People who take certain types of antidepressants may be at higher risk for potentially deadly Clostridium difficile infection, a new study suggests.

This type of infection is one of the most common caught by hospital patients and causes more than 7,000 deaths each year in the United States. Several medications are thought to increase the risk for this infection, including antidepressants. Researchers aren’t sure why these meds are linked to chances of contracting C. difficile

My  insight:

Just another unpleasant danger of antidepressants. Never mind that they don’t work effectively for the majority of cases.


Yes, I know. I hear it all the time. “If it wasn’t for my antidepressants, I would have killed myself.” I understand. I have been there. But I am also here to tell you that there are all natural antidepressants that get to the root of the cause of the depression in the first place. And that is something medications can never do.
